Bewdley Town (A) - Preview

Lee Jackson25 Mar 2022 - 13:52

Saturday 26th March - 3pm

City embark on an away trip to Bewdley Town on Saturday for a Worcestershire derby.

In squad news, Fortune Maphosa will miss a second game through suspension for yellow card accumulation. Sam Hall has had a scan on his knee and won’t be available until the full results are known. Jude Hill, the on-loan striker from Kidderminster Harries, also misses out due to a groin strain.

Billy Shaw will miss the rest of the season after suffering another set back with his back injury after a brief substitute appearance at Lye Town. Bekir Halil also suffered an injury during training this week and whilst the extent of the injury is still unknown, it doesn’t look as bad as first feared.

Jake Whitehouse has started light training, but it is unlikely he will feature again this season, whereas striker Bobbie Dale is making good progress and his sharpness will be closely monitored in the next few weeks.

City will be looking to turn things around following last weekend's defeat, having picked up two wins and a draw in the last five games in the league. Bewdley come in to the tie off the back of their best stretch of results of the season as of late.

City manager Tim Harris said about the match: "We are looking forward to the game tomorrow. Not only as it is a local derby, which are normally always competitive, it provides an opportunity to put right our display of last weekend against Lye Town. Bewdley have been far more competitive of late, even though they sit bottom of the league. We have to earn the right to play, but following wins over Uttoxeter and Highgate and a draw against Romulus last time out, we have to show them respect."
