It was a weekend of progress for a number of Worcester City Youth teams in Nerf Junior Premier League competitions.
Following Saturday's match against South Staffordshire RTC, the Club's youngest age groups, the Under 8s (pictured), booked their place in the JPL Spring Championship final. They'll now head down to Middlesex at the end of April to take on Bradford-based Forza Football Academy.
The Under 12 Blues and Under 13s secured spots in the national stages of JPL competitions. Oliver Moore hit a hat-trick for the younger age group and Tom Rebbeck was also on target in a 4-3 win over Pro Pathway.
The Under 13s' victory was more emphatic as they beat Stoke RTC 5-0, thanks to goals from Oscar Hanbury (2), Harley Arnold, Joel Reeves and Jack Edwards.
And there was cup success for a couple of other City sides. Rafe Green and Tyrese Sibanda netted for the Under 14s in their 2-1 triumph over Tamworth-based TS Academy, whilst a solitary strike by Jack Marsh was enough for the Under 18s to see off Kidderminster Harriers 1-0.
Despite City goals for Karan Purewell and Dawid Szkwarek, there was some revenge for Harriers as they won the U15s fixture 4-2.
The Under 18 Floodlit team's competitive season ended with a 1-3 loss at Racing Club Warwick, where Toby Lungley scored and keeper Dom Hill saved yet another penalty.
The clubs met again in the Midland Football League, where the Reserves remain in seventh spot four points behind their sixth-placed opponents but with two games in hand. Callum Dark and Callum Briggs were on the scoresheet for City in a 2-2 draw at Claines Lane.
In the Mercian Junior Football League, there was the same scoreline but different results for City's two Under 13 girls' sides.
Ruby Craythorne and Indie Lannie scored for City Girls as they defeated Kingfisher Youth. Meanwhile Kacey Kirkpatrick was on the mark for the Lionesses as they made unbeaten league leaders Stourbridge work very hard for their three points.
On Sunday, City recorded another hat-trick as Cameron Elton notched a treble for the Under 13s. An impressive first-half display saw them power into a 5-1 interval lead versus Kidderminster Athletic Hawks before they went on to complete a 6-2 win with Oliver Guz (2) and Levi Adusei-Hillel the other marksmen.
The Under 11 Girls continue to impress as they demonstrated in their latest fixture with Nunnery Wood on Saturday morning when their male counterparts took on Cookley.
There was a strong performance by the Under 9 Whites as they showed the tremendous strides that they're making against Paget Rangers. And there was plenty of goalmouth action for the Under 9 Blues in an entertaining encounter with Stoke RTC.
