International Women's Day takes place on Wednesday 8th March 2022, and we’ll be marking the occasion on Saturday 11th March at our game against AFC Wulfrunians, 3pm kick off.
On this day we will #EmbraceEquity to highlight and challenge attitudes to the statistics that:
- Only 63% of girls are able to play football in their PE Lessons
- 49% of people report feeling lonely
- 29% of small businesses are owned by women
Worcester City Women’s FC was formed in 2020 as a new, separate entity to allow the club to develop a bespoke, sustainable strategy that will leave a lasting legacy for the women’s game.
On Saturday 11th March we will be inviting members of the women’s first team and development team along to the game, along with our girls youth teams.
We would also like to invite all of our women supporters to this game with FREE ENTRY.
As a club, we want to open our doors to women as a welcoming and accepting home, inclusive of all people. By offering free entry to the match, we hope to demonstrate that Worcester City is a safe place for women, and we encourage you to become part of our Faithful.
We also want to take this opportunity to celebrate all of the women at our football club who are the face and voice of every match day through their tireless hard work and enthusiasm.
