City welcome Shifnal for 120th Anniversary Celebrations

City return to Midland Football League action tomorrow at Claines Lane, where Shifnal Town are the visitors for a 2pm kick off. The Blue And Whites will look to bounce back from a last-minute 5-4 defeat away at Whitchurch last Saturday, in an all-out attacking affair.

Shifnal come in to the game sat in 2nd position in the league standings, unbeaten in their last 7 league games, which includes a 2-0 victory over City on the 1st November.

Tomorrow looks set to be Chris Cornes' first game in charge at home.

In a number of loan movements, Dan Baldwin and Marvellous Onabirekhanlen have both returned to parent club, Walsall FC, along with Harry Lewis who has returned to Stourbridge. We would like to thank Walsall and Stourbridge for their co-operation over the last few months. Will Rawlins has also opted to move on, and we wish all of them all the best for the future.

Tomorrow will be the final game of Aaron Roberts' 3-game suspension following a red card at Romulus back on the 5th November.

A pitch inspection is scheduled for 10:15am and news will be shared through the club's channels as soon as possible.

The game is combined with the our 120th Anniversary Celebrations and a host of extra match day activities taking place.

In the event that the game is called off, our celebrations will still continue.

The ground will be open from 12.30pm and for this game we will have the WCFC Fan Zone in place. This will be located at the top car park, next to the clubhouse.

We will have:

An extra catering concession.
A Fan Bar selling draught beer, cask ale and cider.
An Exhibition Trailer showing iconic photos from throughout our history.
A merchandise trailer where you will be able to buy City merchandise off the rail.

From 1.15pm the Salvation Army Band will be playing, and they will also play at half-time.

We are already expecting a much larger attendance than normal so we ask that if you are intending to come to the game that you pre-purchase match tickets in advance due to our restricted ground capacity.
