"Youngsters join Forest Green"

Two aspiring footballers from Worcester, Isaac Pearce and Eddie Collett, have both just been signed by League One Club, Forest Green Rovers (FGR).

The two boys, who both played for the same Worceter City Youth U10s side, recently completed an eight-week trial, after impressing in a game against the FGR Academy side. The nine-year-olds were part of the Worcester City Youth side that won the National Junior Premier League Cup in 2021 and are now the second and third players from that successful team who have been signed to academies, after previous team member Gabriel Friedmann joined another League One side, Cheltenham Town, last season.

Both Eddie and Isaac have been part of the Worcester City Youth set up from the age of six, managed, ironically by their dads, Nick Pearce and Adam Collett. The two coaches were also part of the same Worcester City Youth side at the age of sixteen, playing in the Midland Floodlight Youth League together.

Speaking about the boys, Manager Nick said: "As a father I am extremely proud of Isaac but equally really happy for Eddie, who has worked very hard to get this opportunity."

Adam added: "It is great to be part of a club that can offer a genuine pathway for players from the age of six through into first team football, or as we have seen with Isaac and Eddie into academies."
