Last weekend saw a series of impressive performances across various Worcester City youth teams, with many of the squads showcasing their development, determination, and skill.

The U8s delivered yet another stunning performance against a strong Kidderminster Harriers side. Despite a slow start, the team quickly found their rhythm and dominated the remainder of the match, once again demonstrating their growth and confidence on the field.

The U16 girls secured a commanding 6-1 victory in the cup, impressively defeating a team two leagues above them. The game featured moments of brilliance, including one goal resulting from a beautiful one-touch play between three players. Goals came from Beau, Sophie, Ruby (2), and Indie (2). The whole team was awarded Player of the Match for their outstanding efforts, making coaches, parents, and players immensely proud.

The U9s JPL were involved in a thrilling, closely fought contest with two strong opponents. The match was a rollercoaster, with exciting moments in the final third and a positive overall team performance. The players continue to develop well as they progress towards the competitive phase of the season.

The City Blues U11s maintained their strong start to the season with a dominant display against AFC Wulfrunians. Defenders held firm, and goals from Hugo, Henry, Brandon, George, and Sammy, with some top-class finishes, ensured a solid victory.

The U11 Whites faced a tough match, losing 5-2 to AFC Wulfrunians. Although the game was challenging, the boys battled hard, displaying brilliant play through the middle. Unfortunately, a few decisions did not go their way, and the team’s goalkeeper had to be taken to A&E after suffering an injury. Theo was awarded both Man of the Match and Players’ Player, while Noah and Vinnie earned Parents' Player accolades.

The U8 Colts produced another convincing performance, overcoming a numerical disadvantage by playing against six players for over half the match due to the fair play rule. Arthur Hill was named Player of the Match for a dominant performance, which included a spectacular goal from the corner flag.

The U9s SDYFL continued their unbeaten start to the season with a fantastic performance against Halesowen Town East. The team played attractive football and scored some excellent individual goals, further establishing their strong form.

The Worcester City U10s impressed with a superb all-round performance against Staffordshire Regional U10s. After a slightly nervy start, a brace from Jack settled the team, with further goals from Matty and Idris. The team combined tenacity with fluid passing, and Alfie added two more goals in the final period. Harry was named Man of the Match for his creativity and dribbling, contributing several assists.

The U15 boys cruised to an 8-0 win against West Mids RTC. While the team played well, they missed several chances and had a spell where they allowed the opposition to gain momentum. Nonetheless, they are preparing for a tougher challenge next week against the group leaders, Kidderminster Harriers.

The U15 girls faced a challenging away fixture against Gloucester, earning a well-fought 2-2 draw. Despite the difficult conditions, the team put in a strong performance and identified areas for improvement as they look ahead to future matches.

The U13 girls secured an emphatic 8-0 win against Meadow Park, playing some excellent football. Ruby scored four goals, Ava added two, while Harriet and Tippo also found the back of the net. Coaches and parents were extremely proud of the team’s efforts and the quality of the goals scored.

Overall, it was a highly successful weekend for Worcester City’s youth teams, with standout performances across the board.
