Doyle bags 4

City entertained local rivals Kidderminster in a JPL fixture at a windy Perdiswell and ran out comfortable winners

Q1
With a very strong wind in their favour the City boys hit the ground running with an excellent display of football in the first 20 minute quarter. From the kick off the midfield got the ball moving quickly and smoothly and in only the second minute Ash Doyle sent over a cross which Jake Brookes superbly controlled before firing a shot goal bound which the visitors keeper tipped onto the bar but the rebound fell to Kyle Clayton who tapped home to give the city the lead. With the home side dominating it was no surprise when they doubled their lead in the 8th minute when Clayton set Doyle free down the left and he cut in before unleashing an effort which was superbly saved by the visitors keeper but unfortunately in the scramble after the ball struck a defenders arm and a penalty was awarded. Doyle smashed an unstoppable effort into the top corner but the Referee ordered a retake for encroachment from the city players on the edge of the box. Doyle kept his calm and cooly sent the keeper the wrong way. Two minutes later it was 3-0 when the impressive Henry Guy burst through the midfield before playing a slide rule pass to Doyle who beat the advancing keeper. With the midfield in total control the home side added a fourth with the best move of the game. Adam Willis linked well with Clayton who played a great one two with Guy who's first time cross fell neatly to the advancing Doyle to complete his fine hat trick. Doyle then hit the post from a free kick and Clayton's effort was well saved by the keeper. As the end of the quarter drew near Josh Sanders was unlucky as his well struck effort from just outside then area was superbly turned past the post by the visitors keeper who was having a great game.

Q2
With the wind at their backs the city boys looked to add to their tally but Kidderminster had other ideas as they started to take control especially in the midfield. They had their first effort on goal easily saved by Louis Hudson in the home goal before they struck a free kick wide of the target. Although they were pushing hard the city defence of Joy Layland, Jay Bennet and Josh Francis managed to keep them down. Rafe Green on the break found himself in the clear and bearing down on goal but he was denied by in the form visitors keeper. As the end of the quarter was nearing the visitors got the goal they deserved after a mix up from a corner led to a near post effort crossing the line to make the score 4-1

Q3
With the home side now facing the strong wind they were expecting an onslaught from the visitors but it never came as the midfield especially Hayden Russel wrestled back control. Any threat from the visitors was stifled out by an organised midfield and strong defence. The visitors efforts came through two free kicks which were easily dealt with by Hudson. The home side extended their lead in the 50th minute with a break away goal. Rafe green turned neatly on the half way line before putting Doyle in the clear to score the 5th and his 4th with a clinical finish.

Q4
Although the visitors continued to push for goals in the final quarter they were once again denied with some resolute defending. Another free kick was well saved by Zac Watkins before their striker found himself clean through and bearing down on the home goal but he was denied by a fine block by Watkins. Josh Sanders put Guy in the clear but his effort sailed wide as the game ended in a fine 5-1 victory for the City Boys
