City denied win after last minute equalizer

MATCH REPORT:
City denied win with a last gasp equaliser.
This weekend the girls took on a much improved Catshill side.
The opening few minutes saw City having to defend, with Alice, Eva and Lily putting in some strong tackles. The game was passing the girls by with Mia having to be called into action several times. This woke the girls up and they began to pressurise the opposition and ensure that they were not going to go into half time losing. Belle and new signing Thea, attacked the ball with energy.
The half time whistle went, with the half ending 0-0.
The second half saw a completely different side. They came out with purpose, desire and hunger. I think the manager had a few words with the girls at half time......
Birmo, who came on as a late sub on the first half and seemed to change the game. She put in a captains display, chasing every loose ball, attacking positively, constantly encouraging and giving out orders.
The girls went 1-0 up through Eva, who has now scored 6 goals in 3 games! From then on the girls had several chances, with Birmo, Thea and Indie having opportunities to extend their lead.
With the game drawing to a close Catshill threw everyone forward, and with the last kick of the game, equalised. Heart break for the girls.
Thank you to Catshill for a competitive game.
Player of the match: Birmo. She showed everyone why she is captain. Her forward runs, her willingness to drive forward and chase everything spurred the team on.

Next week, Nunnery Wood.
