Worcester City will be hoping to build on Saturday’s much-needed win when they make the mid-week trip to Darlaston (Wednesday, October 2) in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midland Division.
Chris Cornes’ men put an end to their three game losing streak with the 3-2 result,l against Hinckley, which saw them move back into the play-off positions in the division.
The impressive Elliot Hartley set up the first and netted the third to give City their first three points since August, with Will Owens also getting on the score sheet with a precise free-kick in the first half.
As for Wednesday evening’s opponents, Darlo come into the contest on the back of a comfortable 3-0 victory at Loughborough Students, their first away win of the league season.
They sit eighth in the league standings with 12 points from their eight games (W3 D3 L2), just three three points behind City & would in fact leapfrog their visitors with another good result.
But the City boss will be keen to see his side kick start another winning run after the weekend and he will be boosted for the trip up the M5 by the return of captain Adam Mace following his suspension.
Cornes will, however, continue to be without forward Izak Reid & midfield general Nathan Hayward, who remain on the injury list.
Kick off on Wednesday is at 7:45 at The Paycare Stadium.
