WORCESTER City make the trip to Northamptonshire this weekend as their search for consistency continues in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midland Division.
Wednesday night’s 2-0 defeat to 10-man Darlaston saw City drop to fifth in the league with what was the team’s fourth defeat in their last five matches in the division.
Darlo raced into an early 2-0 lead and despite being reduced to 10 men towards the end of the first half, Chris Cornes’ men were unable to make the extra player count in the second half.
They are back on the road this weekend when taking on Wellingborough Town at the Dog & Duck (3PM, October 5), where they will be keen to rediscover that impressive early season form.
City won their opening four games of the 24/25 campaign, but have since struggled & leaking too many goals has been an issue that boss Cornes will be eager to address, starting with Saturday.
Their opponents, The Dough Boys, picked up their first league win of September with a 2-1 victory at Coleshill Town, a result that leaves them mid-table with 11 points from their opening 8 games.
As for team news, the likes of Izak Reid & Nathan Hayward remain out of action so the squad is unlikely to be too dissimilar to mid-week.
