We welcome former MFL rivals, Shepshed Dynamo to Claines Lane today for a 3pm Kick Off.
Our last meeting came in the FA Vase during the short covid hit season 2020/2021 which was our first back in the City.
A period of no games between 17th October and this tie on the 5th December added to a strange season.
Ash Vincent was in charge and this game was going all to plan with two goals from Demetri Brown and in the 83rd minute we led 0 v 2. But the tie was not over with Dynamo scoring twice in 6 minutes to take the game to 2 v 2.
An unbelievable strike in the 92nd minute from 25+ yards flew into the top corner past Dan Jezeph and Dynamo knocked us out of the FA Vase inside 10 minutes with 3 goals.
City of course will be hoping for a different outcome today.
With Shepshed today we welcome three former players in Tristian Dunkley, Kyle Perry and Exodus Geohagon.
Shepshed have struggled so far this season and earlier this week their manager moved on as well as one of their long serving players. Dynamo currently sit in 20th position with 8 points on the board, their only win coming against Hinckley LR.
City got a morale boosting win last weekend away at Long Eaton and put in a really strong performance, the relief could be felt when the referees whistle went at full time, they will be hoping to continue that feeling today.
