Worcester City travel to Coventry Sphinx for a 3pm Kick Off on Saturday.
This fixture will be the first meeting between Worcester and Sphinx since the curtailed 2020/21 Covid season, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Claines Lane on the 30th September 2020.
Sphinx took the lead in the tie through James Bryson, before City equalised through an own goal which Danny Fraser headed in to his own net from a Jamie Smith free kick. The tie was played during the period of capped attendances, with 300 supporters allowed in to Claines Lane.
A win at Sphinx Drive would make it four wins in a row and mark an excellent upturn in form for Worcester which has seen the team find different ways to win on the road: a 1-6 blitzing of Rugby Town and a tense 0-1 win in their last game against Wellingborough Town.
It is a dangerous time to play Coventry Sphinx, who currently occupy 14th position in the league, as their 2-0 win against Sporting Khalsa gave them their first win in nine games. They will be looking to start putting together a run of good home form just as Chris Cornes’ men look to continue their good away form.
Worcester City sit third in the table, and whilst a win would not move them any higher from their current position, it would put the pressure on the chasing pack of Sporting Khalsa and Darlaston Town who are both also in action at 3pm today.
Coventry Sphinx play at Sphinx Industrial Supplies Arena, Sphinx Drive, Coventry, CV3 1WA.
Admission prices are £10 adults, £7 Concessions, £3 Under 16s.
