Worcester City travel to Stourbridge on Tuesday evening to take on Lye Town at the Sports Ground in a 7:45pm kick-off.
Lye Town have been a thorn in City’s side over the previous few years, with the sides meeting numerous times whilst both plying their trade in the Midlands Premier Division. The previous meetings back in the torrid 2022-23 season saw Lye complete a league double over City, but the first meeting of the sides at Step 4 back in August turned out to be a comfortable victory with Elliott Keightley and Izak Reid on the scoresheet, giving City a 2-0 victory.
City will be looking to make it two wins from two against Lye in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division and four wins in a row in the league. The Blue and Whites will also hope to keep their excellent defensive form going, which has seen them keep clean sheets in their last three league games.
Lye Town are currently 19th in the league and will be planning to make the most of the two games they have in hand to put some distance between themselves and the two teams below them. Lye Town have proven resolute defensively, keeping clean sheets in their last two games.
City sit third in the league as it stands, a win would take them within two points of second-placed Corby Town, and four points clear of Sporting Khalsa whilst still having two games in hand on them.
Lye Town play at Stourbridge Rd, Lye, Stourbridge DY9 7DH
Entry prices are Adult £10, Concessions £7, U12 Free.
