Worcester City welcome Coventry Sphinx to Claines Lane for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday.
City will be looking for a similar result to the reverse fixture back in November, in which second-half goals from Taylor Townsend and Elliott Hartley helped Chris Cornes’ men to a 0-2 win at Sphinx Drive.
The Blue and Whites will be looking to get back to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat by Anstey Nomads brought a perfect start to the month to an end. City will be hoping to maintain their recent goalscoring form at Claines Lane to help get the victory, having scored nine goals in their last two home games.
Coventry Sphinx are currently 17th In the Northern Premier League Midlands Division, leaving them two places above the relegation zone, and they will be desperate for three points having not won a game in their last six. City should remain wary as the Sphinx’s last win came on the road in a 1-2 win against Boldmere St Michaels.
Despite that recent loss, City remain firmly in the fight for the playoff places, sitting in 4th place as it stands. It is incredibly congested at the top end of the table. Should City win and Long Eaton United drop points in their game against Sutton Coldfield Town, then City could find themselves moving up to 3rd place.
