Worcester City Under 15s into County Cup semi-finals

City reached the WFA County Cup semi-finals with a disciplined 6-0 win against a hard-working Crowle Searchers side.

Clear-cut chances were few and far between during the opening period of the first-half as City were kept at bay by their hard-working hosts and their five-man defence. It was the introduction of the first set of substitutes that finally brought the first goal just after the midpoint of the half as one of those entering the fray, David Ferreira, stooped to head home a Jack Pocknell corner within moments of coming on.

It was another substitute who fired in the second - albeit somewhat fortuitously - as an Alex Fenn free-kick 30 yards from goal bounced through a crowded penalty area and into the net.

The visitors pressed for more goals before the interval with George Hymas, Jesse Asomugha and Will Cottell all having shots to no avail.

City maintained their momentum at the start of the second-half with an Oli Sheahan effort blocked and Guy Collett shooting from distance.

The latter wasn't going to be kept off the scoresheet though as he jumped well to head in a Charlie Grubb corner. Asomugha saw an attempt hit the bar before the striker linked up with Ferreira to tee up Collett for his second from a well-constructed team move.

Another flowing move down the right then ended with Ferreira crossing for strike partner Asomugha to smash City's fifth from close quarters.

Archie Thurston set up another good chance for Grubb to grab a sixth but that honour went to Cottell, who got his just rewards after being foiled by the woodwork on two occasions during the second-half.

City join TDMS in the semi-finals with the winners awaited from ties between Nunnery Wood Colts and Welland Colts and Kidderminster Harriers and Evesham United Juniors.
